Things I'm Loving This Week #3

"The Inheritance."  For all you period drama people out there, this is a fantastic film.  You've heard about North and South and I don't know if I can compare this one to it, but I'll give you my quick little synopsis.

It's shorter, but packs just as much plot in. It's characters were more "lovable" ... I'm not exactly sure why, but for me personally, I think it's because they were more honest and open. There was more innocence, I guess.  It is a romance and for once, the two actually liked each other from the beginning. That made it less stressful to watch. :)  However!  The antagonist was excellent, which meant I wanted to strangle her. The father figure was so funny and yet very affirming and protective. You have Edith, a servant, challenging the traditional rules excluding her from all social and competitive fields. She is so sweet and caring, so it's not rebellious, she just finds herself in many of those situations.  The biggest one of all being her falling for Mr. Percy, a man above her station. What I loved about her is she was very selfless and didn't want to burden him with her lack of resources, even though he wanted to marry her.  But our lovely antagonist, also wants to marry him.  It was an all around excellent film and there was nothing I didn't like (and how often does that happen?)  Definitely recommend!

Maybelline Shine Free Loose Powder.  I used this for pictures and worked perfectly!  Its easy to apply, stays on, and doesn't feel heavy or oily.

Apple Orchards. We went to one on the way to my volleyball games. It's an all organic apple orchard that had over 38 different varieties of apples. Five were ripe and we had fun finding the best ones.

They didn't even compare to store bought. It's amazing how different they are!  The texture is even different; not former or softer, but just more ... more dense, more texture, more ... Something!  It's good, that's all I know. And they were sweet and crunchy and just a little warm from sitting on the trees outside. Incredible.

You'll be glad to know within five minutes of getting there, I ran into two spider webs and swallowed some insect. Me and nature = frenemies for sure!

This Denim Mini Skirt from Old Navy.   Also on the way to the volleyball games, we stopped at the mall. I have been looking for a denim mini skirt, but haven't found any.  Old Navy was out of the ones I wanted online  and so I hoped we'd find some in the store.  Lo and behold, I found some I liked better than the ones online and they were on sale!  I liked the faint dots on these (they're actually flowers, but I think they look like dots) and the color and fit. And the final price was less than $8. Win.

{Here is a picture from the varsity volleyball game.  I like it because it is clear and we're smiling. :)P.S.  If you want to pretend I'm the tall blonde, feel free to do so :) It would make my day:) (There are way too many smiley faces in this paragraph!  Moving on ... }

Luna Bars!  I eat these all the time.  They are my favorite granola/snack bar.  They come in 15 different flavors and my favorites are Lemon Zest and Nutz Over Chocolate.  Their Chocolate Dipped Coconut version is delicious.  (I like coconut and chocolate together.

My Mom. Just for clarification, I always love my mom, but this week, she went out of her way to really bless me. She had seen ads for this stuff in the paper and thinking I would like it, bought them for me!  Me and my pumpkin get made fun of (nicely, of course) around here, so for her to go out and get all these special pumpkin foods meant a ton.

Pumpkin Chipotke Sauce. Because I post desserts, you don't see my favorite savory dishes. Chipotle is one of them. I can't even describe this sauce.  I could drink it.  Its amazing.

Pumpkin Cider.  Oh. My. Gosh. Love.

Remember this Pumpkin Flax Granola?  Yeah, she got that, too.

And I ate it with this Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee.  Uh-mazing.  Yes, this is an empty glass.  I drank all of it before I could take pictures.  I made a copycat and I'm just going to store it in this in the fridge because I love drinking out of it so much.  :)

Pumpkin Spice Pancake Mix. Remember our pumpkin tradition?  She knows I don't love them for breakfast, so she got this. *melt*  It was so sweet of her!

And from the blog world!

Honey and Figs' Spicy Hummus, Grilled Vegetables, and Chicken Quesadillas.  If you remember, I adore hummus and this spicy version spread on tortillas with chicken and veggies sounds incredible!

Crazy for Crust's Peanut Butter Pumpkin Bread.  Quick breads are the jam to my peanut butter and this one has pumpkin, peanut butter, greek yogurt, and chocolate chips.  'Nough said.

Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice's Caramel Stuffed Pumpkin Cookies.  Caramel stuffed pumpkin cookies.  Caramel and pumpkin = day made.  I really want to try these!
