Hi, I'm Mary Frances, the baker/photographer/recipe developer behind this blog. Thanks for stopping by!
Now, you might be asking, "What makes this blog different than the other hundreds of cooking blogs out there?"
Well, here, you will find recipes tested and approved by my quality control team (aka my siblings). I love spending time in the kitchen, experimenting with ingredients and putting my spin on desserts. Disguising strange ingredients is fun and my goal is always to achieve a dessert that is delicious, but also has something in it that is good for you. I don't always reach that goal, but to me, sweet and rich is what makes a dessert. I cook for
I have a wide variety of recipes. Like I said above, I 've tried and liked putting dates and bananas in my brownies, but I will never abandon my forever crowd pleaser that has a stick or two of butter. I don't believe any ingredient is bad because the key is moderation.
I do spend hours creating, baking, and photographing my recipes, so if you would like to repost it, please link back to the original post. All recipes are created by me unless noted in the recipe.
Since this began as an English assignment, I also have posts devoted to life and what I'm thinking. I hope you enjoy! Here is a post about camp, one about what club volleyball has taught me and more on my thoughts about healthy. Most recently, I've started a "Things I'm Loving" post series highlighting favorites from my week.
**I am a Pinterest junkie like a lot of you, but I do ask that you don't pin any photos of me or my family. Thanks!**

Now that we are done with the blog, lets move on to me . . . because, you know, talking about yourself is fun! :)
God's grace in my motivation every morning.
I'm homeschooled and it is one of the greatest privileges I've ever had.
Music is something I enjoy listening to, playing, singing along with, and dancing to. I really enjoy it.
Paper calls my name: Scrapbooking, cardmaking, creative writing, lists, you name it. Especially lists.
I love dresses. :) And athletic shorts, because I love playing for our Varsity volleyball team as well. Its a unique combo ...
I hope to go to England one day. English accents are my favorite ever!
I think the color blue is awesome. It is a KU Jayhawk color and, yes, I am a die hard KU fan.
My goal is always to make you want to try the recipes, so I've had to improve my photography skills. I enjoy wielding a camera, but I will always volunteer to be on the other side of the camera as well.
I don't like mud. Occasionally, I'll run through it in crocs with my cousin Gracie in the summer, but other than that, I avoid it.
Me and Gracie (2012)
Speaking of Gracie, I love her to freaking pieces. One of my favorite memories is tubing with her. Read about our 4th of July here.
I also love my friends. And I love to talk.
I also love my friends. And I love to talk.
My pet peeve is probably being late. (See how that works when there are seven eight kids in your family.)
I cannot get enough chocolate. Ever. Greek yogurt and hummus aren't far behind!

DeleteYour blog is fresh and fun and makes me smile! I love that your grammar/spelling isn't atrocious like other blogs (regardless of the writer's age) I've visited lately. Your recipes are a neat twist to typical sugary fare without being full of hard to find/exotic ingredients, and your photographs are quite good. I'm delighted to have found you:)
ReplyDeleteAw thank you Dana! This blog began as an English assignment, so my teacher makes sure we have good grammar ;) I've had a lot of fun with it and am glad you are enjoying it! It is comments like yours that make it worth it :) Thank you again!
